No, I haven't. I came into D&D with 3.0. I have played with that OA, though. It also has all of these classes (well, the monk is a base class) but did little to differentiate them from other classes. The samurai was, for example, basically a fighter who comes with a built-in magical weapon. The shugenja was a wizard who couldn't eat meat or had some other taboo.

Have you ever read the 1st edition AD&D Oriental Adventures? All of these classes are represented, in a fairly elegant Eastern light.

Yes, that's intentional. The story is set in a 1930s/1940s urban fantasy setting, which isn't nearly as obvious in this version than my original edit. All of the characters I post introductions for will have some sort of mystical capability or magical power. Milo's introduction is an attempt to show what his ability is without stating it outright. I was hoping people would pick up on it. It's also significant that you finally get to read Milo's dialogue when he finally meets Cavendish.

Very nice! I'm interested to read more, which is a great start. Couple of things - I'm not sure if you were intentionally leaving things vague or not early on when you would write something like "Milo had a request." It was kind of jarring to hear the response but not the question, and it left me kind of confused.

Could also use a bit more copy editing work, but that's really not a big deal.

Overall, it was interesting and really makes me want to read more!

I think an important rule for fun skill checks and skill use in general is to reward creativity. As a DM, I always try to find a way to say yes if a player comes up with a creative use for a skill. Maybe it's far fetched and so I'll make the DC high, but I'll still let them do it. Even if the player misses the roll, they usually enjoy doing it because it was a unique tactic they created. Streetwise is perfect for that kind of stuff.

They recorded the show on the last night of the tour, in Grand Prairie, for a tv show and DVD release. It was a flawless show, too!

Well, I would certainly hope so. :-)
I've heard there's a channel on Korean TV dedicated to watching Starcraft tournaments.
